TOWN OF NEW GLARUS - The Town of New Glarus Parks Commission at its June 17 meeting presented Boy Scout Troop 106 and Girl Scout Troop 2037 with monies earned during distribution of trees from the commission's annual Tree Sale Program.

Scout Leaders Tami and David Woerpel accompanied Boy Scouts Skyler and Brandon Woerpel and Girl Scout Elizabeth Woerpel at the Parks Commission's monthly meeting in the Town Hall. Both Scout groups assisted the commission with separating and documenting orders and receiving payments during the distribution May 9.

The Scouts played a key role in handing out six varieties of 515 trees that were pre-ordered and 53 trees that were purchased that day.

The Parks Commission would welcome contact from other community youth groups that would be interested in participating in their programs as a fundraising vehicle.

The commission would like to build its membership in 2015. Those who reside in the Town of New Glarus can contact the Deputy Clerk Susan McCallum at 608-527-2390 or smccallum.townofnewglarus@tds.net or chair, Harry Pulliam, 608-527-3325.
