MADISON - State Senator Dale Schultz is offering an internship opportunity in his Capitol office to young people that are from communities he represents.
"High school graduates that may be in school in the Madison area and have an interest in government are welcome to call or e-mail me to apply," Schultz said.
Schultz said several graduates from area high schools have interned in his Capitol office.
Schultz said many college students have earned college credit through their internship in a legislative office. Schultz said intern hours are very flexible and he stresses to all interns that their grades in school are priority one.
Schultz said a typical intern experience includes constituent services, issue research and drafting letters. But for students with other interests, opportunities exist for interns in nearly any field including marketing, journalism and computer science.
Schultz welcomes prospective student interns to be in touch by calling his office at (800) 978-8008 or sending an e-mail to: Sen.Schultz@legis.wi.gov.
