Schultz plans stops in Lafayette County

MADISON - Senator Dale Schultz will make several stops in Darlington and Blanchardville on Monday, Nov. 17. Schultz welcomes community members to join him at stops during the day.

Stops in Darlington begin with a visit to the Cornerstone Christian School from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. He will talk with the school's 12 students in kindergarten through ninth grades about what the job of state senator is all about and about other jobs in the capitol. The school is located in the First Baptist church on Wisconsin 23 on the south end of Darlington.

Schultz will meet with community members to discuss any subject from noon to 1:15 p.m. at the Riverwood Restaurant, 128 Main St., Darlington. Following lunch, from 1:15 to 1:45 p.m., he will join local leaders to review revitalization progress including the housing and dental clinic under construction.

Schultz will meet with General Manager Michael Landon from 2 to 3 p.m. at the ITW-Shakeproof Automotive Products plant, located at 136 Pelco Drive, Darlington, to tour the plant.

From 3:15 to 4 p.m. Schultz will meet with Delores Rydberg, administrator of the Lafayette Manor Nursing Home, 719 E. Catherine Street.

The Johnson Public Library, 131 E. Catherine St., will be the site of Schultz's last stop in Darlington. He will be at the library from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m., meeting with library board members and Librarian Nita Burke. The public is welcome to join in their informal discussion which will include reviewing a recent study on the economic benefits of public libraries.

Schultz will then travel to Blanchardville for the Lafayette Development Corporation's annual meeting at the Viking Café, 210 S. Main Street. Joining Schultz to recognize the group's recent successes will be board members, Mary Chandler (president), Tracy Wiegel, Tim Burke, Melodie Hawkins, Dave Breunig, Rick Moyer, Ken Leahy, Gary McCrea, Lance McNaughton, Jeff Metz, Terry Sheffer, Wayne Wilson, Mark Zidon, Cheryl Fink, and Executive Director JoAnne Ehasz.
