School to celebrate FFA Week with special events

ALBANY - There are several events scheduled for National FFA Week in Albany this week.

All week long, the milk machine will have tagged products. Students may return the sticker to get a prize. There will be animal stickers hidden around the schools every day which can be redeemed for a meat stick or a free milk. The high school and middle school will have a daily trivia question and the elementary school will have a coloring contest.

Other events throughout the week include:

Monday, Feb. 21: Blue and Gold dress up day to kick off FFA week; FFA pictures in the gym first thing Monday morning, officers will wear official dress to school; Donkey Basketball game starts at 7 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 22: Blaze orange/camouflage dress up day.

Wednesday, Feb. 23: Dress up like a cowgirl or cowboy; faculty and staff appreciation breakfast, including bus drivers and school board members, and taking orange juice and doughnuts out to local farmers; after the breakfast, FFA members that help will eat breakfast and will be cleaning up; malts will be sold during lunch for $1.

Thursday, Feb. 24: Dress up like a favorite farm animal, FFA Week Pep Rally at the end of the day. FFA students will be released at 1:45 p.m. to set-up. All students will be released to the gym at 1:55 p.m., Pep Rally will last until time to load buses; high school and middle school students can participate in the Olympics if there's enough volunteers and staff. Friday, Feb. 25: Flannel Friday dress-up day; drive your tractor to school day; any stickers that are found for prizes on Friday can be redeemed on Monday.
