MONROE — Evan Studer and Calli Fiez are the recipients of the 2019 John and Katie Baumann Inspiration Project Scholarship.

This scholarship program assists undergraduate students from Monroe High School who are attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Both Studer and Fiez are active school and community volunteers who represent the values consistent with the Wisconsin Idea. 

Studer is studying nuclear engineering and is involved in the UW-Madison chapter of the American Nuclear Society. During his high school years, he was a member of the National Honor Society.

Fiez was also a National Honor Society member. In high school she played softball, was an exchange student to Costa Rica and volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Fiez wants to work in the health care industry. 

John Baumann (1982) and Catherine Doyle (1985) initiated this scholarship fund. John is a Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association board member. He is also president and CEO of Colony Brands Inc.
