MONROE - The Sexual Assault Recovery Program (SARP) of Green County will host its first masquerade ball event, "Dancing and Romancing," Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Monroe Country Club. The evening will include gourmet desserts, dancing, last-minute Valentine's Day gifts, and music by D.J. Wyatt Herrmann.

SARP is a non-profit organization providing services to sexual assault survivors and their families. These free and confidential services include 24-hour crisis intervention and support, support groups, medical and legal advocacy, and community education. SARP is proud to be a United Way agency, and has been active in Green County since 2003. Every year, the number of people seeking services from our program increases.

All proceeds will go to providing services for sexual assault victims in Green County, primarily the continuation of art therapy services, both individual and group. There is a significant need for these services, as demonstrated by the ever increasing participation in the program. These services are currently funded by a time limited stimulus grant that is nonrenewable and set to expire.

The group is also seeking sponsorships. Each sponsorship includes complimentary tickets to the event and acknowledgment at the event as well as in promotions leading up to the event. For more information, call (608) 324-2444 or e-mail sarp@monroeclinic.org.
