MONROE - The Sexual Assault Recovery Program (SARP) will host an open house from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at the Monroe Area Chamber of Commerce Building, 1905 9th St. Community members are invited to attend to learn about SARP's program, services, and possible volunteer opportunities.

SARP provides services in both Rock and Green Counties and is one of the 10 programs of Family Services of Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.

Family Services is a non-profit agency that has been in business for more than 70 years. SARP provides medical, legal and personal advocacy for sexual assault victims and their families. SARP also provides Trauma Informed Therapy service and referrals to other community based services.

SARP is always looking for volunteer support. Volunteers receive comprehensive training from SARP staff regarding sexual assault, providing crisis counseling and advocacy to ensure that all victims receive fair and sensitive services. Volunteers can also contribute at community events and with outreach in the community and at schools.

People in need of assistance from the Sexual Assault Recovery Program can call their 24-hour crisis hotline at 1-866-666-4576.

People with general questions or who may be interested in finding out about volunteer opportunities can call the SARP Green County office at (608) 324-2444.
