MONROE — Join the Monroe Arts Center for New Year’s Eve and beyond.
“In celebration of our community events — particularly our annual ‘Cheese Drop;’ MAC invites all to come ring in the New Year in our spaces,” said MAC’s Executive Director Marie Perry.
The Monroe Arts Center, in conjunction with the Monroe Kiwanis Club, will be hosting a New Year’s themed noisemaker craft and storytime from 1-3 p.m. in their gallery space on Dec. 31, 2025. This free event will give families a chance to spend time together in a kids-oriented activity before heading down to the square to enjoy the Cheese Drop and shake those one-of-a-kind crafted noisemakers.
Additionally, MAC will be hosting its first ever New Year’s Eve Gala from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. in its spaces. This is an opportunity to get dressed up and come hear and dance to live music with the Society Swing Band. The event will be special and host a time for the public to enjoy artfully created hors d’oeuvres and desserts, cash bar and champagne at 11 p.m. and midnight (depending upon what time zone you choose to ring in 2026.) MAC is striving to be a welcoming environment for all ages and under Marie Perry’s direction, she has been thinking broadly about how the arts center can offer unique opportunities for the public. Opening its doors twice on New Years Eve this year helps demonstrate that MAC can host different events and be a home to many in the community.
“New Year’s Eve offers MAC a festive time to engage with the public while also wrapping its arms around a beloved celebration on the square. We just felt that we could add to a great community celebration and help to keep New Year’s Eve a local event for all ages to enjoy,” said Perry.
