APPLE RIVER - The Sigafus family reunion is set for 12:30 p.m. Sunday, July 27, with a carry-in dinner in the large room of the Apple River Stagecoach Event Center, off of Stagecoach Trail on the east edge of Apple River. Families are asked to bring a dish or two to pass. Tablecloths, plates, glasses, table service and napkins will be provided by the Sigafus relatives from Kentucky.
John Franklin Sigafus, patriarch of the family, was a devout Christian. For several years, family members have gathered Sunday morning before the reunion to attend and provide special music for the 11 a.m. worship service at the Apple River Presbyterian Church. The Sigafus singers will practice at 10:30 a.m. and everyone interested is invited to participate. Both the church sanctuary and the Event Center are air-conditioned.
