Jy'shon Broitzman was inspired to start the Kindness Club at Northside Elementary School after watching a YouTube video of high school students doing nice things for their peers. 

The club handed out nomination forms and selected a student who they saw as the most deserving from third, fourth and fifth grades. 

Broitzman’s goal was to give recognition to those who normally don’t get any. The recipients were third-grader Jade Tran, fourth-grader Lian Truong and fifth-grader Shannon Weber. 

Each basket was personalized based on the recipient’s interests. An anonymous donor funded the baskets.
