MONROE - The Green County UW Extension office is offering a program called "Raising a Thinking Child" from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. for seven Tuesday nights, starting on April 10.

The program will be taught at Rainbow Childcare Center by Pat Schye, a retired Juda School counselor, and Bridget Mouchon, Green County Extension Family Living Agent. Childcare will be provided by Green County Home and Community Education Association and Monroe Noon Kiwanis.

The registration fee is $15 per family and covers the costs of training materials.

This program is designed to improve relationships within the family; improve children's behavior at school, home and with peers; and give children the tools and skills to be able to think about and solve social problems.

The program teaches children to:

- Think about what to do when they face a problem with another person.

- Think about different ways to solve the same problem.

- Think about the consequences of what they do.

- Decide whether or not an idea is a good one.

- Realize that other people have feelings and think about their own feelings, too.

More information is available by contacting Green County UW-Extension at (608) 328-9440 or by emailing Mouchon at bridget.mouchon@ces.uwex.edu.
