MONROE - Anyone age 55 and over is invited to attend the Behring Senior Center's veterans monthly breakfast from 8 to 9:30 a.m. March 1. This is a special breakfast as a Quilt of Valor will be presented to Carl Munz at 9 a.m.
The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.
Munz is a World War II veteran and was present when the famous "Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima" photograph was taken.
Join community members to honor Munz and others who have served our country. A donation of $2 is suggested for the breakfast.
