MONROE — Three Green County organization are working together in partnership with the authors of Pulling Together: A Handbook for Community Change, to host two special events this October as part of the Pulling Together Wisconsin book tour featuring Jeff Yost, president and CEO of the Nebraska Community Foundation (NCF). The Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, Green County Development Corporation, and UW Green County Extension are bringing this free event to Green County to offer practical strategies and inspiring stories for building better communities.
Community-minded friends and their families are invited to the Oct. 10 Fall Breakfast at Turner Hall and be inspired by the keynote address as Yost talks about what everyone can do to pull together for community change. To gain momentum before the breakfast event, register for the optional book discussion held Oct. 2 and take part in candid discussion about the book, and ways to get things moving in the community.
The book, Pulling Together: A Handbook for Community Change is a timely guide filled with real-life stories, practical lessons, and powerful tools for those ready to bring people together to create positive change. Co-authors Mike Breininger, a small-town conservative evangelical pastor, and Tom Mosgaller, a progressive community builder and farmer, prove that trust, love, and shared purpose can overcome division.
Keynote speaker Yost will bring his experience of transforming his hometown of Red Cloud, Neb. into a thriving center of hope and opportunity. Red Cloud appears in the book as a case study, offering proof that small communities can do big things when they pull together.
