This photo shows the students attending the Puddledock School during the 1959-60 school year.

Myrtle Schmid was the teacher at this school, located on Puddledock Road just west of Biggs Road, from 1953 until 1962. The school got its interesting name after a dam was built about 1866 in Adams Township to operate a flour mill and woolen mill. Because of the number of ducks, it was first known as Puddleduck before a spelling error was made and it has been known as Puddledock ever since.

After the school closed in the early 1960s, the students were attached to the Argyle district.

Those who can identify any of the students in this photo should contact Matt at 608-325-6503 or mfigi48@tds.net. Contact Figi if you have other school photos like this from anywhere in Green County that might be added to this valuable collection. The youngest of the students who attended these schools are probably in their 60s.
