Program to focus on local food and fiber producers

DARLINGTON - Lafayette County Extension Educators Mary Knellwolf and Joy Gieseke, along with the Home and Community Education Clubs of Lafayette County, will present a program to introduce, celebrate and promote local food and fiber producers.

Kriss Marion will kick off the evening with a presentation about her experience as a small farmer and the importance of getting involved in the local community. Marion is the owner and manager of Circle M Market Farm, Blanchardville. She is the president of the Wisconsin Farmers Union South Central Chapter.

Several Lafayette County producers will be on hand to share their stories about their businesses, and Lafayette County treats will be offered.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Church of Christ Fellowship Hall, 339 E. Louisa St.
