DARLINGTON — The UW-Division of Extension and WI DATCP are planning a meeting to discuss the latest industrial hemp information for those interested in growing industrial hemp in 2019.
The meeting is slated from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9 at the Lafayette County Hilltop Center, 11974 Ames Rd., Darlington.
Shelby Ellison, from the UW Horticulture department will be joined by Melody Walker, from WI DATCP to share information and answer questions. The 2019 growing season will be reviewed, studying late season agronomic considerations and discussing pre-harvest planning. UW-Madison CALS and UW-Division of Extension are currently researching best practices for production and harvest of industrial hemp. Field days show casing this year’s research are being planned for this fall around the state.

If interested, plan to attend an Industrial Hemp online discussion at the Lafayette County Hilltop Center on Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. Lafayette County Extension Ag Educator, Josh Kamps will be showing the live workshop on the display screen. He will take any questions asked and share the answers Friday, Aug. 9.
