FREEPORT — Submissions are now being accepted for the annual “Prairie Wind” art and literary magazine. “Prairie Wind” is a diverse collection of original poetry, prose, visual art, and recorded music contributed by Highland Community College students, employees and alumni. The submission deadline is on Friday, March 7. Submissions are accepted electronically only.
The magazine has been published annually since 1992 under the auspices of Highland. It is a cooperative project of the Humanities, Graphic Design, Art, and Music departments in the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences. Submissions of poetry, short prose, visual artwork and music are accepted. Each issue is created by an editorial board of students and volunteer community members guided by a team of faculty advisors.
