MONROE - It's been about six months since the holidays and the last major mailing to the men and women serving our country overseas.A lull in the number of care packages being sent has spearheaded a summertime United States Postal Service initiative called Operation: Season's Greetings - Without the Snow! This promotion partners the Postal Service and the USO, and is meant to boost the morale of the men and women serving overseas. The Monroe Post Office received a supply of Mili-Kits and will be distributing them free to local customers, as well as groups and organizations. The kits are designed specifically for military families sending packages overseas.
