MONROE — The Wisconsin Pork Association is offering mini-grants to Wisconsin Family & Consumer Science teachers. Grant monies are to be used for the purchase of fresh — not processed pork products like bacon, ham, or sausage — for classroom/lab food experiences. The program assists teachers in educating future consumers about the value of adding lean, nutritious pork to their diet.
Teachers may apply for $50 mini-grants and are encouraged to use the lesson plans developed by WPA. The application and lesson plans are available for download at www.wppa.org/lesson-plans or by contacting WPA at 608-723-7551.
There are a limited number of applications, and applications must be received by Oct. 31. Send a completed application form to: Wisconsin Pork Association, PO Box 327, Lancaster, WI 53813 or via e-mail to aboschert@wppa.org.
