MONROE - The Friends of Pleasant View Foundation has established its first "Gift of Light" tree, located in the lobby of Pleasant View Skilled Nursing and Rehab, Monroe.

Every light on the tree shines in memory of or in honor of a loved one. Lights with name cards attached will be added to the tree as donations are received from families, friends and employees. A display listing the names of those being honored or remembered is located on an easel next to the tree.

Lights in honor of or in memory of a loved one may be obtained with a $5 donation to the foundation. Donations from the "Gift of Light" tree will be added to the Friends of Pleasant View Endowment Fund, which supports Pleasant View residents now and in the future. All gifts to the endowment fund are tax deductible; the foundation is a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, a 501(c)(3) corporation. The foundation board includes Michael Boehme, David Busker, Nancy Faith, Michael Freund, Donna Glynn, Randy Roderick and Larry Vance. The tree was obtained by Jim Glessner through Thrivent Action Team funds.
