JUDA - The third annual Tyler Pierce Memorial Tournament - consisting of softball, volleyball and bean bags - will be held Friday, Aug. 2 through Sunday, Aug. 4 at the Juda Community Park.

The tournament was created after the death of Tyler Pierce to raise awareness and funds toward suicide prevention in Green County. Participants can play men's and co-ed softball, volleyball and bags as singles and doubles.

"We're using the power of voice and numbers to bring awareness to anyone who has ever contemplated suicide that they are not alone, and that the world doesn't have to be this dark place that they are living in," said Dennis Pfingsten, committee member of the Tyler Pierce Memorial Tournament.

"Our event is a time to celebrate the life of Tyler, to have fun with all the games and activities, and to bring attention to the suicide prevention for those who think they are all alone in this world."
