MONROE - Several Green County piano students of Rita Farris were winners of 2010 Gold Cup trophies for piano at the Federation of Music Festival held in Janesville.

The students auditioned in memorized piano solo, sight playing or piano hymn playing. In order to qualify for a trophy, students must earn 15 points.

Points are based on the successful performances of two memorized solos, sight reading or hymn playing and annually range from one to five points. After earning one trophy, students may work for additional trophies.
