Peterson receives service award Oct. 3

MONROE — Donna Peterson, FoodWIse Teaching Coordinator of Grant, Green, Iowa and Lafayette Counties, was honored recently at the National Extension Association for Family and Consumer Sciences 85th annual session, whose theme was “Nurturing the Richness of Lifelong Learning.” 

She received the NEAFCS Distinguished Service Award at the conference held Sept. 30 to Oct. 3 in Hershey, Pennsylvania. 

Peterson teaches all ages, from Head Start to older adults, topics of nutrition, food safety and more. 

Her commitment to meeting the needs of individuals, families and communities is exemplary. 

The NEAFCS Distinguished Service Award is the highest award presented by the association. It recognizes members for leadership, outstanding program efforts and personal and professional development. Peterson’s commitment to meeting the needs of individuals, families and communities is exemplary.
