Pet portraits to benefit GCHS

MONROE - Picture this: You can have your pet's image captured in a special portrait and help the Green County Humane Society at the same time.

Portraits by Dawn in Monroe is offering area residents a 50 percent savings on the session fee for pets. Pet owners will pay just $25 for the session fee, which will be donated to the Green County Humane Society.

The sessions will take place from Oct. 1 to Oct. 15. Certificates for the half-price pet sessions are currently available at the Green County Humane Society or at its booth most Saturday mornings at the Farmer's Market on the Square in Monroe. Pre-purchasing the certificates ensures pet owners that they will be able to take advantage of this special savings program.

GCHS operates a no-kill animal shelter at 1500 6 1/2 Ave. in Monroe. Hours of operation are from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. It is closed Monday, Wednesday and holidays.
