Pas couple named UW-Alumni Badgers of the Year
Couple has shown commitment to Green County through extensive involvement

Ed and Mandy Pas, Monroe, were presented with the Green County UW-Alumni Badgers of the Year award May 2 in New Glarus. The couple is pictured with their son, Alex Pas.

MONROE — Ed and Mandy Pas, Monroe, were recently awarded the Green County UW-Alumni Badgers of the Year Award. 

Jo Ellen Mosher presented the award to the couple for their involvement in Green County for the past 40 years. Ed graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1972 and Mandy in 1974. They have been active in the Green County UW-Alumni Club for over 20 years with Mandy serving as president for several years and Ed serving as treasurer.

Both Ed and Mandy have been active in many local clubs and organizations. They both served on the Monroe Country Club board and were active in the Jaycees and the Alpine Curling Club. They are active with Green County Cheese Days, co-chairing the Arts and Crafts Fair at the event for several festivals, and chairing the Cheese Days parade from 1990 to 2000. Ed has served on the Cheese Days board and chaired the Food Vendors & Downtown Square Infrastructure Committee for the last seven festivals. He also has served as president of the Green County Historical Society.

Mandy has been involved in the Woman’s Club Christmas Stocking Project, the Green County Food Pantry and has volunteered at local schools as well as tutored for the Green County Literacy Program. Currently, Mandy is finishing her term on the Green County Humane Society board.

The Green County UW-Alumni Founders’ Day celebration was held May 2 in New Glarus.
