MONROE — The annual PARTY in the PAC took place on Oct. 1 at Monroe High School with two show times for area sophomores from 13 different schools. PARTY stands for Preventing, Alcohol and Risk-related Trauma in Youth.
The program consists of a skit where the worst possible outcome happens when teenagers are drinking and one decides to drive.
Monroe High School students, Monroe Police Department, Green County Sheriff’s Department, Monroe Fire, Green County EMS, the Coroner’s office, SSM Health Monroe, and local Judge Faun Marie Phillipson were all a part of this skit making it come to life. Jelle Towing and Monroe Glass also provided their services to make the skit come to life.
Testimonies were given by members of the drug court to add emphasis to the importance of abstaining from alcohol and drug use. Roughly 600 students are in attendance every year.
