MONROE — Applications are now being accepted for a scholarship for a Green County student pursuing a medical school graduate program. The William C. and Margaret L. Parmer Scholarship Fund will be making its Spring Scholarship Award. Applicants should be residents of Green County or a Graduate of a Green County High School.
The Parmer Scholarship was created by Margaret Parmer, a long-time Monroe resident, who saw a need to help medical students with the increasing cost of their education. Margaret’s husband, Bill, died in 2005 and Margaret wanted to see the impact of the scholarship while she was still alive. To date this scholarship has awarded $55,000 in scholarships.
The Parmer Scholarship Fund is a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin. Applications are available online at cfsw.org/scholarships/non-traditional students. The application deadline is May 1. Applications should be mailed to the Monroe Fund, CFSW, POB 733, Monroe, WI 53566.
