Parks and Rec to offer children's dance lessons

MONROE - The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department is once again offering children's dance classes. All dance programs will begin on Sunday, Feb. 7th and end Sunday, March 28th. Classes will be held at the Community Center (lower level of Monroe City Hall) and the cost to participate is $26 for Monroe residents and $36 for non-residents. Rebecca Flannery and Hanna Knutson will be the instructors.

• Dancing with Elmo and Friends is offered to children 3-5 years of age and will meet from 5 to 5:40 p.m.

• Pretty, Pretty Princess I is offered to children 3-5 years of age and will meet from 5:45 to 6:25 p.m.

• Pretty, Pretty Princess II is offered to children 5 years of age and older (who have taken the classes before or have been approved by the instructor) and will meet from 6:30 to 7:10 p.m.

The dance program offers the individual an introductory experience in age appropriate dance. Participants should wear casual clothes or leotards if they have them with tights or socks. Ballet or Jazz shoes are not required.
