JUDA — The Juda School District took advantage of a summer grant to open a food pantry at the school. With the help of Second Harvest Food Bank they received the grant in October and opened Panther Pantry.

Panther Pantry is a collaborative effort with the Juda School District, Union-Zion United Methodist Church and Second Harvest Food Bank. The pantry also partners with Green Cares Food Pantry to provide backpacks with food to students over the weekend.

The Panther Pantry is open from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday mornings. Appointments can be made if that time doesn’t work. To set up an appointment, call the school at 608-934-5251. Enter through the palace doors to access the pantry. The Panther Pantry is located near the band room and is open to all families with students attending the Juda School District.

Those interested in donating to the Panther Pantry can drop off items at the school during regular school hours. Suggested items are as follows: Hygiene items such as toothpaste, brushes, shampoo, etc., spaghetti sauce, butter/vegetable oil, cake/brownie/muffin mixes, ground beef, Jello/pudding mixes, tuna, monetary donations.
