Orangeville Firemen's Festival next weekend

ORANGEVILLE - The Orangeville Firemen's Festival is celebrated the weekend of June 5-7. Activities begin at 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday evenings, with the Midway hosting the Firemen's Follies at 8 p.m. on Thursday. On Friday night, the main stage will provide a variety show at 8 p.m. with local and regional talent. Both shows are free to the public.

Saturday is a full day in Orangeville, beginning with a bake sale at 8 a.m. at the fire station; a car show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and a parade at 11 a.m.

Entries for the parade will be accepted until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, according to Mel Wichman, Orangeville's Fire Chief. At 11:30 a.m., the Fire Station will begin selling its famous grilled pork chop dinners.

The Midway opens at noon, and the water fights begin at 1:30 p.m. Buy tickets early for the Duck Race on Richland Creek, to take place at 2:30 p.m. Sign up begins at 7 p.m. for the Price Is Right and Let's Make A Deal, an annual favorite on the main street.
