MONROE - The Morning Optimist Club, which meets weekly from 6.30 to 7.30 a.m., Thur-sdays, at Swiss Alps Restau-rant, recently made a presentation to Walt Hougas. Hougas was elected to the prestigious Christian D. Larson Partners membership, in recognition of his many years of involvement in the local Optimist club, and his exemplification of the principles of the Optimist Creed, particularly To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best, and to wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
