MONTICELLO - For an early taste of Cheese Days, stop by the Monticello Historical Society's general meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 24 in the Zwingli Church North Room. This month's program will feature W.E. Trukenbrod's (a former Monroe pharmacist) 16 mm home videos of the Green County Cheese Days and County Fair, circa 1928. The portion of the film to be shown is about 18 minutes long.

The original films were transferred from film to video tape and then to CD by Roger Dooley and run a total of 2 1/2 hours, with the majority of the film being family activities and vacations of the Trukenbrod family. If anyone is interested in seeing the whole video, it is available at the Monticello Historical Society Museum, which is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
