Northside art teacher showcases student work
Briana Cleary’s dedication goes beyond the classroom walls

Northside Elementary School teacher Briana Cleary has reached a major milestone with student online art museum Artsonia. Northside Elementary School students have won over 350 awards on Artsonia this year. Cleary’s efforts have created a more arts-centric community, as students’ works of art are visible all around the world.

MONROE — Northside Elementary School art instructor Briana Cleary has commitment to art education and a desire to showcase her students’ efforts in the art room. 

Cleary uses Artsonia.com — the largest online student art museum in the world — for displaying more than 2,500 pieces of student art this school year, creating a lifelong portfolio for local budding artists.

“It’s amazing to look at my students’ digital portfolios and see how their artistic ability has grown throughout the school year,” Cleary said. “Creating digital portfolios makes assessments easy.”

Cleary and Northside Elementary School have been maintaining digital student portfolios for the past eight years. In addition to accumulating over 57,000 pieces of art on Artsonia, Cleary and Northside Elementary School have connected over 100,000 friends and family members to student galleries. Her efforts have created a more arts-centric community, as students’ works of art are visible all around the world.
