Nobel nominee Ghosthorse to visit, talk at Zen Center

MONROE - Nobel Peace Prize nominee, radio talk show host and musician Tiokasin Ghosthorse will present a public talk at 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Great Plains Zen Center, W7762 Falk Road.

The facility is wheelchair-accessible, and refreshments will be provided.

Ghosthorse is from the Cheyenne River Lakota Nation of South Dakota and the bands of Itazipco/Mnicoujou and Oglala.

He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work with the International Institute of Peace Studies and Global Philosophy. He is the host of First Voices Indigenous Radio on WBAI NY-Pacific Radio.

His new book, "Butterfly Against the Wind," with artwork by Jadina Lilien, challenges readers to re-awaken the bond with Mother Earth and expresses the wisdom of the Lakota culture and language.
