NEW GLARUS — The New Glarus High School National Honor Society and Raise Your Voice Club successfully completed their annual community-wide Food Drive, collecting an impressive 6,500 pounds of food to support local families in need.

This student-led initiative, which originally aimed to gather 5,000 pounds of non-perishable items, exceeded expectations thanks to the generosity of the New Glarus community. Donations will be distributed between Green Cares Food Pantry and the Caring for Kids food closet, both of which serve families within the New Glarus School District.

As part of the drive, students delivered donation bags, generously provided by Roy’s Market, on Saturday, October 25th, and returned on November 1st to collect the filled bags from doorsteps across the community.

“This project reflects the true spirit of service and community that defines New Glarus,” said New Glarus High School Principal Jeff Worzella. “Our students are proud to support their neighbors and make a real impact as the holiday season approaches.”

In addition to the door-to-door collection, donations were also accepted at New Glarus High School throughout the week. The success of this year’s food drive underscores the ongoing commitment of students and residents to caring for one another and fostering community connections.
