NEW GLARUS — Several New Glarus Family, Career and Community Leaders of America members attended the Wisconsin FCCLA State Leadership Conference on April 3-5. 

New Glarus High School students participating in the STAR events (Students Taking Action for Recognition) earned the following awards:

●  9th Graders; Alivia Lamb & Kaia Morrison; Hospitality, Tourism, & Recreation (Level 2) GOLD.

●  11th Grader Aliana Smith, Entrepreneurship (Level 3) GOLD

Kaia and Alivia will have the opportunity to represent New Glarus FCCLA and the State of Wisconsin at the National Leadership Conference in Seattle June 29 to July 3. 

New Glarus FCCLA members also held leadership positions called “Regional Representatives.” Kaia Morrison, and Alaina Smith assisted with making STAR events, breakout sessions, and anything that helped make the conference run smoothly. 

Through their projects and participation in FCCLA, these students experienced character development, improved their critical and creative thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation. They truly are making a difference now and in the future.
