NEW GLARUS - The New Glarus School District gave a presentation at the 2016 Wisconsin State Education Convention titled "Improving Student Achievement at the High School Level."
The presentation focused on how New Glarus High School has undertaken several efforts to improve student achievement, including implementing a flexible schedule with built-in collaboration time for professional learning communities; adding a Tier 2 behavioral and academic plan for students who are struggling; and implementing more rigorous coursework for all students. The sectional also addressed how NGHS has been able to accomplish all of this while maintaining the same number of staff and focusing on college and career readiness for all students.
The state education convention is the largest education convention in the state and is typically attended by school board members, superintendents and business officials.
