Village of New Glarus Mural

NEW GLARUS — The Village of New Glarus has a brand-new mural brightening up the downtown.

The old New Glarus Foods building, now owned by Albion Swords, has been transformed by local artist Chad Caso and the New Glarus Chamber of Commerce. The mural on the building, completed in early June of 2022, features a bright palette that showcases local images and calls back to New Glarus’ Swiss roots.

Caso, a United States Army veteran, has over twenty years of design experience and has created murals for the New Glarus Veterans Memorial Hall, Falbo Bros Pizzeria, Atwood Barber Shop, Alchemy Bar & Grill, Mad Ink & Glass, and East Madison Community Center, among others.

“It’s been a long road to get here,” said Bekah Stauffacher, the Executive Director of the New Glarus Chamber of Commerce. “We started making plans for the mural in late 2019. The pandemic delayed things, but we are so happy to see the project completed — Chad did an amazing job.”

The full mural can be viewed at 421 2nd Street, downtown New Glarus.
