NEW GLARUS - The family of Trevor Daniel Moen has presented Green County's chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness with a $4,000 donation in his memory to be used for mental health education projects in the county.
NAMI Green County is a member of NAMI, the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons living with serious mental illness and their families.
Lisa Bergum, NAMI Green County president said, "We are deeply grateful for this significant donation given in Trevor's memory," NAMI Green County president Lisa Bergum said. "Too many people's lives are tragically affected by the devastating effects of mental illness.
"This donation will help us in our goal of providing information, education, and hope to families and individuals affected by mental illness and to the over-all community about these too-often misunderstood medical disorders. We are honored to carry out this work in Trevor's memory."
NAMI Green County's open meetings of information and support are held at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe. For more information, call (608) 328-9387.
