The Badger State Archaeological Society will hold its annual Native American Indian Artifact Show Oct. 20 at Monticello Schools. The show has grown immensely over the last four decades.

MONTICELLO — The Badger State Archaeological Society will hold its 40th annual Native American Indian Artifact Show Sunday, Oct. 20. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rehmstedt gym in Monticello Schools, 334 South Main St.

The show was started by Ralph Hammerly, Paul Severson and James Beer, with only five tables in Monroe. The show has grown to more than 80 tables of artifacts on display or for sale, including points, stone, bone, copper artifacts, Eskimo items, prints, books, pottery, jewelry, rugs and more. The show itself is a history lesson, and there will be experts on hand to identify your artifacts.

Boy Scout Troop #106 will have a lunch stand. There will be awards for best of show, best personal find, judge’s choice and best educational display.
