Monticello: Marty earns Arts Institute award

MONTICELLO - Sarah Marty, daughter of Fred and Susan Marty, Monticello, was recently awarded the Joyce J. and Gerald A. Bartell Award by University of Wisconsin-Madison Arts Institute. She is the youngest honoree ever selected.

Marty is an outreach specialist for University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Continuing Studies, Department of Liberal Studies and the Arts. The 1992 graduate of Monticello High School is the granddaughter of Ruth Marty, Monticello, and the late Hans Marty.

The Joyce J. and Gerald A. Bartell Award in the Arts recognizes and honors the achievements of UW faculty and staff in the creative arts, in the areas of outreach, public service, and/or other activities involving the larger community. The award is for $6,500 and may be used for teaching, research and public service activities.

Marty is a founding member and managing director of Four Seasons Theatre

In addition, she is a member of the production staffs for the Edgewood High School Drama program, Madison Opera and UW Varsity Band Spring Concert. A member of Madison Wind Ensemble and past member of the Madison Opera Chorus, she teaches private music lessons to students ages 7 to 57.
