MONTICELLO — The Monticello High School Class of 1965 celebrated their 55th +1 reunion due to the covid situation on Sept. 25 at Turner Hall.

Those in attendance were Dean (Donna Durtschi) Ferguson, Jack (Sally Hammerly) Stenbroten, Judy (Strause) Crooks, Dennis (Linda) Thoman and John Wirth (Doe Ross) from Monticello. From Monroe were David (Eleanor Baker) Smith and David (Mary Tryon) Blum. Also attending were Norma Jean (Benkert) Duff, Evansville; Lucinda (Duerst) Fahr, Winslow, IL; Doug (Diane) Hoskins, Muskego; Jim (Judy) Lehnherr, Argyle; LaVonne (Loveland) Hawking, Aurora, IL; Richard (Darlene Luchsinger) Harms, Cross Plains; Bonnie (Pengra) Stoner, Shannon, IL; and Norman Rood, Madison.

Members of the class unable to attend were Janice (Arn) Schmid and Larry Schmid from Monticello; Fred Bittner and Wayne Prisk, Monroe; Kathy (Disch) Lickel, Stoughton; Joseph Dooley, Wheat Ridge, CO; Kathy (Fernstaedt) Tarala, Brooklyn; Diana (Gould) McPhail, Belleville; Tom Hefty, Denver, CO; Carolyn (Hill) DeJongh, Rhinelander; Gordon Huntley, Rockford, IL; Kandace (Karlen) Goins, McDonald, TN; Elisabeth (Metz) Marcinkowski, Chelsea, MI; Sylvia (Olson) Smith, Phoenix, AZ; Carol (Schultz) Schneider, Brodhead; Allen Schlittler; Joanne (Stowe) Farrell; Monument, CO; Vicki (Svendson) Banovsky, Severance, CO;

A moment of silence was had for deceased classmates Bob Woodruff, Sharon Pickett Jorenby, Richard Luchsinger, Brian Babler, Linda Munz Alderman, Timothy Hammerly, Mary Huntley and LaVonne Disch Schneeberger. The class has donated to the Monticello Foundation, Inc. in memory of deceased classmates.

The class voted to have class reunions every two years in the future.
