MONROE — Monroe High School junior Lilly Cherney was selected to be a part of the Overture Center’s 2022-23 Jerry Ensemble.

This premier performance group represents the Jerry Awards in Southern Wisconsin and features select vocal performers from schools participating in the Jerry Awards program.

Students are selected through auditions each year. They build their technical skills in acting, singing, dancing and perform for a wide variety of events. Some past events have included cabaret performances, singing the National Anthem at UW basketball games, performing with Broadway stars, and at the Overture’s Kids in the Rotunda.

Also at MHS, senior Clayton Waski is a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program. The nationwide pool of semifinalists represent less than 1% of US high school seniors.
