Monroe students advance in KC contest

MADISON - Five Monroe students will compete at the state level of the Diocesan Knowledge and Free Throw Contest on Saturday, March 17 in Wisconsin Rapids.

The KC's Madison Diocesan Knowledge and Free Throw contests were held on Saturday, March 3 in Sauk City.

In math, Keon Butler placed second in grade 5; Sydney Mathiason placed second in grade 6, Silas Setterstrom took first place in grade 7; and Caitlynn Kamps placed second in grade 8.

In spelling, Josette Ferguson took second place in grade 6.

Medallions were presented to the first-, second- and third-place winners, but only first- and second-place winners will advance.

These five students are eligible to participate in the state level contest in Wisconsin Rapids with first- and second-place winners from the other four regions in the state.
