MONROE - Dr. Linda J. Roberts, Professor and Chairman, Human Development and Family Studies, University of Wisconsin-Madison, will speak on the role of healthy relationships in human development at 7 p.m. Monday, June 9, in the second floor meeting room of the Monroe Public Library.
This presentation is the second of a two-part series. The focus is on creating and sustaining healthy relationships throughout our lives, especially as we experience new challenges and opportunities that come with aging or with maintaining bonds with others as they age. Within the context of the presentation, Roberts will describe what is known as the "positive psychology" movement and its implications for successful aging.
Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m. in the library second floor meeting room. Dr. Roberts's presentation begins at 7 p.m. followed by panelists comments on a sampling of area resources that encourage the development of positive relationships through learning, work or recreation.
No registration is required for attendance. Young people under 16 years-of-age must be accompanied by an adult family member or guardian.
