MONROE — The community of Monroe and the American Red Cross are teaming up to host a blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. Dec. 20 at Monroe Bible Church, Nehemiah Center, 2613 8th Ave., Monroe.

Monroe Community and the American Red Cross are hosting an upcoming blood drive.

This drive will begin one hour earlier and additional staff will be on hand to accommodate the anticipated turnout. Making an appointment will help time constraints. Those able should opt for the RapidPass on the day of the drive to speed up the process.

The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
