Monroe Public Library is about to get 'Wacky'

MONROE - Summer fun is underway at the Monroe Public Library, and students entering first through sixth grades may register now for Wacky Wednesday events. Wacky Wednesday programs are offered as part of Be Creative @ Your Library, the library's theme for its summer reading programs.

Most Wacky Wednesday programs begin at 1:30 p.m. and last approximately one hour. All library programs are free and open to students of all abilities. To register and request accommodations, if needed, call the library at 328-7010.

The first Wacky Wednesday Workshop, Super Summer Science, will take place Wednesday, June 24, on the library's front lawn. Children are encouraged to wear sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses for this outdoor program.

Along with the solar balloons, children will have the opportunity to make a sun print and explore static energy. If the weather doesn't cooperate, the program will move indoors and other activities will be substituted for the solar balloons and sun print craft.
