MADISON - Monroe organist Deborah Krauss Smith will perform a program of Advent/Christmas music at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5701 Raymond Road, Madison, as part of the church's annual Advent Organ Recital Series.
The free program is open to the public. The 45-minute recital is preceded by a free-will donation soup luncheon, hosted by the church's Friends of Music group, at 11:30 a.m. in Peterson Hall. The program features familiar melodies of the season, including "Joy to the World"; "O' Come, O' Come Emmanuel"; "Silent Night"; and "O' Come, All Ye Faithful."
Krauss Smith worked as a church musician for more than 40 years in Eau Claire, Monroe, and Madison, and, in 2002, established Midday Masterworks, an organ mini-recital series in Monroe presented quarterly at both the United Methodist Church and St. Victor Catholic Church.
