MONROE - Performances and displays by students will be a highlight of the open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Monroe Middle School, in addition to some grade level parent meetings.
All Encore teachers have worked with their students to showcase projects in art, business, technology education, family and consumer education, and foreign languages. In addition, the physical education and health teachers will have "open gym" throughout the evening.
An informal demonstration featuring "Computer Music for Compositions and Theory" begins at 5 p.m. in the Band Room. Tunes from the musical "Once On This Island, Jr." will be performed in the cafeteria from 5:10-5:25 p.m., and at 6 p.m. the Jazz Ensemble will play in the cafeteria.
Any eighth grade parents interested in assisting with the eighth grade class end-of-year activities will meet at 5:30 p.m. in Room 122.
Camp Wyalusing booklets will be distributed to all seventh grade students and parents in the auditorium from 6:30 to 7 p.m., and final trip details will be shared with parents. Also, Project World project boards will be on display in the second floor hallway.
The "Principal's Choice" Art Award will be on display, and a huge Book Fair will be open during the Open House Gallery Showcase in the LMC.
The MMS Red and White Parent Club will have popcorn and beverages in the cafeteria.
