MONROE — The Monroe Lions Club is proud to support two local organizations with recent donations totaling $12,500, reinforcing its commitment to service, health, and youth development in Green County.
In October, a donation of $10,000 was presented to the Colony Brands Green County Family YMCA in support of its Annual Campaign. This contribution helps provide financial assistance for youth programs, family memberships, swim lessons, and community wellness initiatives.
“The Monroe Lions Club has been a long-standing partner in helping the YMCA strengthen our community,” said Trent Henning, Executive Director of the Colony Brands Green County Family YMCA. “The Lions Club’s generosity will help us expand access, strengthen families, and continue building a Y that truly serves everyone in Green County.”
In November, the Lions also awarded $2,500 to the Monroe Clinic & Hospital Foundation for its Reach Out & Read Program, which provides new books to young children during wellness visits and encourages early literacy and family reading habits.
“Supporting literacy at a young age sets the foundation for lifelong learning,” said Scott DeNure, Monroe Lions Club Treasurer. “This program connects healthcare, education, and family, and we’re honored to support it.”
Chartered in 1938, the Monroe Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization. The Club focuses on vision and hearing support, youth development, health initiatives, and community service throughout Green County.
